1. Find the ratio of the following.
(a) Speed of a cycle 15 km per hour to the speed of scooter 30 km per hour.
(b) 5 m to 10 km (c) 50 paise to Rs 5
Solution: (a) We have,

The speed of a cycleThe speed of a scooter=15 km30 km=12

(b) We have,

5 m10 km=510×1000=12×1000=12000

[Note : 1km = 1000 m ]

(c) We have, 

50 PaiseRs 5=50 Paise5×100 Paise=50500=110

[Note : Rs 1 = 100 Paise ]

2. Convert the following ratios to percentages.
(a) 3 : 4 (b) 2 : 3

Solution:  (a)  We have,

3:4=34×100 %

                                                   =3×25 %=75 %
